A study from the Mayo Clinic suggests that “men who experience erectile dysfunction between the ages of 40 and 49 are twice as likely to develop heart disease.” In the study, published in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings, “men with erectile dysfunction [had] an 80 percent higher risk of heart disease.”

UPI (1/1) reported that “research presented at the 2008 annual scientific meeting of the” American Urological Association (AUA) indicated that “losing weight may help resolve erectile dysfunction in obese men.” And, “morbid obesity, as well as other conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and smoking, can impact sexual dysfunction.” In fact, “about 75 percent of erectile dysfunction [patients] have an underlying physical cause, including serious medical conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol levels.” But “diagnosing and treating the condition…can improve overall well being.”
